Your Network Infrastructure Just Got an Upgrade (And Your Vacation Plans Just Got Safer)

Tired of dealing with clunky, overbuilt networking solutions? ZeroTier recently dropped its latest update, and it’s about to make networking exponentially easier. Like, actually-take-a-real-vacation-without-your-phone-buzzing-every-five-minutes easier.

Launched during a live updates webinar, which you can rewatch here, ZeroTier founder Adam Ierymenko, CEO Andrew Gault, and SVP of Global Operations Angelo Rodriguez toured attendees through the platform updates, which included new ReBAC features, a fresh UI, and more.

Here are a few takeaways from the updates webinar highlighting how ZeroTier can help you enjoy your summer vacation and leave your laptop behind.

Access controls that don’t suck.
Traditional role-based access control (RBAC) is like giving someone keys to every door in a building when they only need access to one office. Relationship-based access control, or ReBAC, is now available on the ZeroTier platform and fixes this problem by giving permissions in context.

Traditional RBAC assigns broad roles like “network admin” with sweeping permissions across all resources. ReBAC assigns contextual permissions like “admin on domain 2,” limiting access to only the specific resources required for that role. This approach scales effectively across large deployments without creating a complex web of overlapping permissions that can plague enterprise access control systems.

A UI that empowers its users.
One major part of this latest update is the fully redesign UX. ZeroTier’s new domain-based organization lets you group networks logically instead of drowning in an endless list. More importantly? Your junior admin can actually navigate the UI while you sip mojitos poolside.

    Devices take center stage.
Your devices are now first-class citizens in the ZeroTier ecosystem. Track connection history, set metadata, and attach policies, all without being tied to specific network memberships. It’s device management that actually makes sense. In other words, when your CEO’s laptop can’t connect to the VPN from his European vacation, you won’t have to cut your own vacation short to fix it.

The Partner Program you’ve been waiting for.
Additionally, during the live webinar ZeroTier announced the launch of its Partner Program, designed for MSPs, VARs, and system integrators looking to expand their networking solutions portfolio. The program offers commission-based referrals for smaller self-serve opportunities, while larger deployments benefit from deal registration with full sales support. Partners gain access to training resources, co-marketing materials, and real-time visibility into their sales pipeline through an integrated CRM system. ZeroTier also provides enterprise-grade support, including 24/7 technical assistance with documented SLAs, specialized deployment guidance for regulated environments, and direct collaboration with engineering teams for complex implementations. Partners can apply at zerotier.com/partnerships to join the program.

Network complexity can kill productivity, security threats are increasing, and remote work isn’t going anywhere. Traditional VPNs are showing their age. And let’s be honest: You deserve to actually use those vacation days without fielding “urgent” IT calls every hour. The latest updates to the ZeroTier platform makes it easy to stay connected (and stay off your laptop) no matter where you are this summer. Want to learn more about ZeroTier? Request a demo today.
