Upgrades & Connectivity Issues

We recently implemented infrastructure upgrades to our root servers, which play a crucial role in facilitating device discovery and connectivity. These servers help establish direct peer-to-peer connections and serve as temporary relays when direct connections are not possible. During the upgrade process, some users experienced brief slowdowns or disruptions, particularly those relying on relays for connectivity.

Our core engineering team has been focused on improving the reliability and scalability of these systems. We’ve already deployed upgraded root servers in several regions, with full upgrades expected to be completed shortly. Additionally, we’ve enhanced our monitoring and alerting systems to proactively identify and resolve potential issues before they affect users.

For customers with particularly latency-sensitive use cases, we’re also improving support for self-hosting roots and relays, allowing for even greater control and optimization of network performance.
